What a fun day we had! So many people gathered at our church tonight for Trunk or Treat, silent auction, food, cake walk, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, food (did I already say that?) One of the best things about church and community is fellowship. I am so thankful that the people of the Centenary community come together for fun and fellowship. We spend too much time in this world working and trying to achieve the status quo, but Jesus ate and laughed with his friends (and sinners), and we should be encouraging one another to stop and live life before it passes us by. Some wise person once told me (and was it John Lennon originally?) that "life is what happens when you're busy making other plans." I plan on thanking God for the life he gave me, for the family I am blessed to have, and for the opportunities to celebrate the joys we so often overlook. Call me crazy, or Pollyanna (I've been called both), but I believe God has hardwired us for joy. God is with us. That alone should bring us joy....and life worth living.
